trndmsk: What inspired you to make the remix?

Brett Johnson: The vocals spoke to me and I knew I could add something different to the project.

How did you approach the original track?

I did not use much of the original parts, instead I focused on the vocal. I did however observe the structure and vibe of the original, so I could avoid any potential redundancies.

Where and how did you produce it?

The remix was created in my home studio, I work with Logic and Ableton, and a few hardware synths. Access Virus, Korg Poly 61 and the Korg Prologue.

How did you get in contact with the record label? Who asked you for the remix?

I believe I spoke to the artist first and then was sent the parts by their management.

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on other projects?

I’ve recently started producing music and sound designs for video games so I’ve been focusing a lot of time on that. Regarding my own compositions, I’m working on several things but none have a home yet.
