An intimate journey of sounds and melodies – Holly North and his newest liveset
Holly North has recorded a new liveset and trndmsk may present it.
trndmsk: What can we look forward to in the next few minutes?
Holly North: You will immerse yourself into an exciting story and intimate journey of sounds and melodies all having been intuitively arranged in the moment.
When did you record the set? What surrounded you at the time?
I recorded this set this March with the overarching notion of “transformation” resembling my state of mind at the time and the slowly changing nature around me.
How did you choose the tracks for the mix?
All tracks have been carefully selected from my own unreleased and released productions with the intension to create a rather non-linear live arrangement. I found them to all have a certain melancholic depth and emotion in common.
Do you have a favorite track included in the mix?
My new track “Fake Paradise” was released on Bar 25 two months ago and I’m happy to make it part of the story that I’m trying to tell with my liveset.
What three songs do you tend to use in your current sets?
Since I’m only performing live, I usually use my own tracks. But if I didn’t, Rampa’s “For This”, the Dan Kye’s Remix to “Eye to Eye” and “Panama” by HVOB couldn’t miss. Ahh and if I had another choice, then of course David August’s beautiful “33CHANTS”!
What are your near future projects?
I’m working on a couple of inter-genre collaborations and remixes as well as my debut EP which I hope to publish by the end of this year.
Are you working on any other projects?
As I am a classically trained musician, I always look to transcend the parameters of electronic music. I have some orchestral and cinematic arrangements in the making and look forward to working with many great people coming from theater, orchestra and film in the future.
