More ethereal twist – Gaviño releases his “Mentira” edit
The latest installment of our free download series welcomes Gaviño with an “Mentira” edit.
trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the track?
Gaviño: My Inspiration: Manu Chao was a huge part of my youth. I used to listen to his tracks over and over always like the vibe on it. My influences: Soda Stereo, Massive Attack, Portishead, Michael Jackson, Caifanes, Nirvana, Pixies. I wanted to make an edit since it was one of my favourite tracks of him but I want it to have a more ethereal twist to say so.
Where did you record it? And how?
I recorded it at my studio in Tulum, with the help of my good friend Indigo kind of everything started with the synth at the beginning and everything came together for the edit.
Why do you want to provide it as a free download?
I would like to give it away first due to legal aspects and also so that people get to know a little more about my sounds & music. Also edits at the dancefloor are always well appreciated.
What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?
I already prepping my liveset and maybe I release an EP later this year. It’s still in the process, also I working on a side project called “Guanábanas” with a couple of friends from Argentina and the Netherlands doing live sessions incorporating organic instruments.
