A deep and slightly dark release – “Que Sera” by Amber Long and Waxman

MAR 001 - Abacus - Various Artists

Canadian Dance music artists Amber Long and Waxman have joined up together to deliver us “Que Sera”, a deep and slightly dark, yet uplifting tune that offer abstract sounds and samples drifting in and out the track. Gritty synths are a main staple in this production with Amber’s stunning, dream-like vocals on “Que Sera” adding new depths. The juxtaposition between the melody and the beat work in perfect harmony and makes this collaboration a worthy listen.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the track?

Amber Long & Waxman: It started with a first session with Jacob’s new Moog Sub Phatty, just messing around with different loops and arpeggios on it until a track started to take shape!

Where did you record it? And how?

Most of it was produced in Jacob’s home space, but the vocals were done at Lynx Music by Amber, where Jacob works! Final mixing was done there as well!

How did you get in contact with the record label?

Amber and Jacob had been wanting to do something together for a little while Jacob had the track starting to take shape, it was still missing the vocals. After adding vocals and hearing the final product, the two decided to release the track as part of the compilation on the new Modern Architect label and a remix EP will come later this year on Modern Agenda. These labels are run by Amber.

What’s up next after the release? Are you working on any other projects?

Each have a handful of releases scheduled for the next few months, but Amber and Jacob are planning on collaborating again, as soon as possible, after how well Que Sera came together.

“Que Sera” will be out in all stores on the 15th of April on Modern Architect.
